Mexican Ambassador speaks at IPU New Zealand Campus

Mr. José Gerardo Traslosheros Hernández, Ambassador of Mexico to New Zealand, gave a formal lecture at IPU New Zealand. The lecture was given during a seminar held by New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) Palmerston North branch.
Since 2009 IPU New Zealand lecturers have been involved in NZIIA Palmerston North Branch's work and have organised a handful of public lectures each year. The NZIIA is an independent non-governmental organisation that seeks to encourage an understanding of the importance of global affairs to the political and economic well-being of New Zealand.Mexican Ambassador

One of IPU New Zealand’s main objectives is to provide its students with opportunities to hear first-hand stories from practitioners of international business, international relations and other related subjects.
Previous lectures have been given by local MPs, mayors and academics and international speakers have been representatives of embassies from Indonesia, the US, Singapore, the British High Commission and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office among others.
Mr Hernández’s talk on strengthening bilateral relations between Mexico and New Zealand within a multidimensional framework provided another opportunity for learning and discussion about international relations at IPU.
His talk was followed by a question and answer session, and several domestic and international students expressed their interest in expanding bilateral relations and entrepreneurship not only in New Zealand, but also in their respective countries.
The guest lecture gave the students had a great opportunity to expand their understanding of Mexico’s economy and its relation with New Zealand. The ambassador closed his lecturer by giving advice on the importance of future planning, networking, and goal setting.
